Topic: Deck Only?

I'm looking for a cheap used XBox on Ebay.  A number of them cost less than $20, but they say things like "Deck Only, No HDMI AS-IS" or "Deck Only Defective."  I don't know what "Deck" and "HDMI" mean, and Google isn't turning up helpful information.  Can anyone help me out by explaining what this means?
